'Big Brother': Hey, it really WAS an exciting live-elimination!

Well, well: after a fairly tedious week in which most of the conversation seemed to revolve around word definitions (“technotronics”?) and the multiple cameras programmed to swivel over to Laura’s breasts the moment they entered a room, this week’s live elimination show proved to be something actually approaching spontaneous excitement.

It was helped, of course, by Chima’s on-the-block speech, calling out Braden as “a racist and a misogynist [who] deserves to go home.” Julie Chen praised this as being “the most memorable speech we’ve ever heard” from someone defending herself from eviction, even though most of what Chima said was bleeped out by CBS because Braden’s slurs were not FCC-permissible, apparently.

Given the reaction of the live studio audience (yes, a live studio audience now surrounds Julie on eviction night), those must have been some mighty slurs, and it sounded as though the crowd was on Chima’s side. (From this point on: SPOILER ALERT!)

But when Braden was evicted, the audience applauded like crazy when he emerged from the house — clearly, no one had strong feelings one way or another about racist or sexist hate-speech. If that’s what it was. I can’t lip-read. What I can do is lament the fact that Ronnie became the new head-of-household. His “I run this show” spiel is becoming tired already.

Be sure to read joltin’ Josh Wolk’s Big Brother TV Watch. And what did you think of the eviction? Who are you loving or hating the most in that damp house?

Braden got into an argument with Lydia and Kevin earlier in the week and called Kevin a “beaner”. The irony is that Kevin isn’t even hispanic, he’s half black/half asian. Even though it’s a dumb racial slur, I don’t understand why the word “beaner” was bleeped. It’s not an expletive, I think it was an overreaction on CBS’ part.

Things could get reeeeal interesting. Ronnie doesn’t know it yet but winning HoH was the worst thing that could have happened to him. He should have thrown it. Why? He now has to pick a side. He’s made deals with every clique in the house so when he has to make his nominations all his lies and double-dealings will come out. He may be HoH this week, but I expect a BIG target on his back the next!

Plus Chima said that Braden called Julie Chen(of all people) a “whore”. He actually called her a “ho”, but whatever. I guess they decided to bleep it all. It’s heard on TV all the time so thats weird but whatever.
I am not liking Ronnie winning this week. He was annoying without being HOH now this is going to put him over the top. It’s gonna be a rough week.

    Good to see Braden go.

I hope CBS posts an uncensored version of the speech!
Honestly, I’ll side with the athletes over Jeff and Co. But Ronnie popping up everywhere is both hilarious and creepy.

I find it surreal that I actually know Ronnie (Talbott), not well, but I do know him. I found him creepy in real life as well.

I do not like the athletes, except for Jeff. I hope the the girl goes next, but I think it will be one of the alpha males again. I agree with the rest of you that Ronnie is pretty lame and I am hoping they keep his air time to a minimum. I thought I liked Lydia, but she has turned me off somewhat. Not because of her gameplay (it is a game) but because of her “Woe-is-me” attitude even AFTER she managed to escape the chopping block. Here’s hoping one of the athletes goes home next and evens the playing field. Ronnie will be forced to show his alliance with the athletes (every other clique realizes they have an extra person advantage) or turn on them and face hothead Russell’s wrath.

Not only did he call Kevin a “beaner” he went on about he was a “White American” so they should go f themselves, etc. It was all very enlightening. I was glad to see his true colors and even more glad I won’t ever have to see him again.

There’s only one legitimate place I’ve found to watch it, the rest seem like scams :-/ You can see it over here though: http://jjpeg.com/watch28015.html
It takes a minute to load but after that it’s good to go :)

I have been to the big brother house.
The audience have to applaud and smile nicely to whoever came out of the house because we’re told to by the stage manager.

Braden also told Kevin to use a banana to do things to certain body parts which were not all that nice either, so…

Love Ronnie. He’s just an excited, awkward guy who LOVES the game and is amped to play it. That’s why he’s all over the place. This is definitely the most excitement he’ll ever have in his life so I’m happy to see him play his heart out. Braden’s the creep.

Craaaaazy night, I agree… I loved the elimination. Casey calling Chima melodramatic made me laugh out loud. It was pretty exciting, and I wanted her to go too, but it’s fine if Braden goes, eh. For some reason Lydia and Kevin came off really annoying last night!!

CBS is still smarting (at least in the wallet) over the “wardrobe malfunction”. I guarantee BB has a 7 second delay on the live telecast and they’re bleeping anything even remotely controversial. This country still has serious hang-ups about race, and I don’t fault them one bit for being cautious here.

Apparently, Braden called Lydia and Kevin “Beaners.” While she is Hispanic (this is why she told him to kiss her Hispanic ass,) Kevin is half black and half Japanese. He also called Julie Chen a “Ho.”
