Do you watch TV at all on Saturday night? The networks don’t really think you do. They now use the night to dump the remaining episodes of their canceled shows.
A few weeks ago, it was Pushing Daisies. Tonight, ABC does the same with Eli Stone (poor, sweet puppy-dog-cute Eli). And for a small but fervent cult, most especially my colleague Michael “Mystery-lovin’” Slezak, CBS has the final two episodes of Harper’s Island.
And don’t forget NBC’s Kings. The network is still airing Ian McShane’s Biblical-rooted fantasy-drama.
Which is these shows do you like, and which will you be watching tonight?

I’m watching Harper’s Island, it’s a dumb show, but I’m stilltrying to figure out who the killer is. Loved and know really miss Pushing Daisies, yet I’m looking forward to next Saturday to Dirty, Sexy Money. It’s been kind of nice to have something on my DVR to watch.
I’m really loving Kings. I can see how its appeal would be very narrow, but it’s still a fantastic show. Maybe would have been better off on a cable network.
We will be watching all three at my house. Thank goodness for the DVR.
Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone were two shows that I quickly fell in love with, but ABC apparently didn’t share that love. I can’t wait to see Eli tonight, but it will be very bittersweet (it’s gotten even better in the last three weeks).
I LOVE Kings! I am so disappointed that it has been canceled, but I am glad that they are airing the remaining episodes. Can’t wait for the DVD. Now if CBS(?) would just air the remaining episodes of The Ex List”….
I liked Kings at first but it was such a sausage-fest it was a little hard to watch…
I’ll be watching kings…with the sound muted. I love watching Ian McShane. He’s magnetic and charismatic with sound or without. I turn off the sound because the dialogue is trash, and I’d rather not be distracted by it.
I’ll be watching AMW and 48 Hours. Not much to choose from on a summer Saturday night.
I watch all of them with Eli and Kings liked more than Harper’s… It seems like anything with a remotely religious overtone is never given the chance.
I’m old and I remember when Saturday night TV was the best night. I think there still is huge untapped market for good Saturday night TV. Got to stay home sometimes!
I was watching Pushing Daisies a few weeks back on Saturday nights. The other shows you’re mentioning here I don’t watch. I used to watch Kings when it first started and I watched the first 4 or 5 episodes. But then I found out how bad the ratings were. I stopped watching because I really didn’t want to get hooked since I knew it would be canceled. I thought it was a good show though. I just didn’t want to bear the heartbreak after its inevitable cancellation. I already have to deal with the heartbreak over the cancellations of Pushing Daisies, My Name is Earl, Samantha Who?, and The Unusuals.
I will be watching both Kings and Harper’s Island. I’ve been keeping up with both and they’re some of the few shows worth watching during the summer. Reality trash has become rampant and is even worse during the summer.
I watch Kings and Harper’s Island.
I watched Pushing Daisies and look forward to Dirty Sexy Money.
The DVR helps
I really love Kings and I’m really sad to see it go, it has so much potential!
I absolutely adore Kings so I’ll be watching it for sure.
I’m also an Eli Stone fan and very sorry that this is the end of the show.
I loved Pushing Daisies and really enjoyed Eli Stone. I was sad to hear they were cancelled so I am glad ABC is at least airing the remaining eps. So often shows just vanish. Besides, with DVRs, even if it airs on Sat, doesn’t mean you have to change your weekend plans.
Harper’s Island is the love of my life.
I love Kings but never have time to watch it on Saturday nights. I always watch it the next day on Hulu.

I’ll be watching Harper’s Island. The show does have it’s faults, but in total everything is very captivating. The ‘whodunit’ thing is done very well in this case.
I’ll be watching KINGS – one of the best on television to be canceled this season.
NBC did a terrible job promoting this show. I didn’t find out about it until after they pulled it from the schedule in mid-Spring.
At least there are a few episodes left to enjoy. I wish NBC got their act together and could position these very good shows better.
I watch Harper’s Island mostly because of where it’s filmed. The story has gone to some pretty wacky places a few times, but I watch religiously and I really am excited to see ‘whodunit’ tonight. I also love how they snuck in one of Vancouver’s most award-winning actors as the supposedly dead bad guy.
Both Harper’s Island and Kings……The networks do not even known how to produce and promote their shows (investments) anymore. It’s a shame.
I watched (Tivo-ed) Kings until I heard it was canceled; didn’t see the point in continuing after that (even if I’d like to have 80,000,000 of Ian McShane’s babies).
Harper’s Island I’ve continued to Tivo: A) it’s dumb-fun for summer; B) it’s good for hungover viewing on Sunday; and C) it’ll have a proper ending.
I love Harper’s Island. It has been a great summer series- really weird but I like it. Too bad some of my favorites were killed off. Can’t wait for tonight’s shows so I can find out why and who.
Loved Harper’s Island.
Was sorry to hear it got cancelled but have watched every show and look forward to seeing how it ends. Would have loved to see it continue as it reminded my of the series Murder in a Small Town X(which also got cancelled in it’s prime).
All my buddy’s and I watch Kings. It’s a pretty badass show. We were all super bummed that it got canceled. I kept up with the show mostly on Hulu.com and watched it at work.
I will be watching all three. I am so sad that they are all cancelled shows. I have enjoyed them all equally. I am sad that they are going to be done soon.
I’ve been hooked on Kings and Harpers Island. Although I have to say that I think Kings is more Shakespearean than Biblical. On the other hand I’m guessing that Shakespeare got a lot of his ideas from the Old Testament. So both theories are right. Shame on NBC for touting Kings like the Second Coming and then treating it like an illegitimate child after their expectations for high ratings were dashed.
I’m watching Eli. As much as I hate the network for cancelling it, I’m grateful that they are at least showing the last episodes.
