not to mention grabbing a still placenta covered newborn baby Paris out of the hospital AFTER HER BREECH BIRTH. Yes, what a wonderful caring father he was. It’s a miracle those children are still alive.
or when he held his baby off of a balcony. or when he paid that kid 22 million dollars to go away. oh but he sang man in the mirror right? oh then it’s all good.
The truth will come out, he died from food poisoining… For lunch he had a 5 year old weiner…
When you die nobody is going to care about you
Martin Bashir is a tabloid type interviewer. Slash and burn. It was a sad rerun on NBC’s part.
At best, Bashir is a nominal reader of a forced script on ABC’s Nightline. I don’t think they’ve ever been able to find a real credible job for the guy there either. His “Sign of the Times” asides on “Nightline” border on ridiculous and his delivery is wooden at best. That said, there was no reason whatsoever on ANYBODY’S part to run that interview again.
Yes, Bashir is a d-bag, but c’mon! This is not the good old days of the Catholic church where a penchant for litle boys is a character quirk. Had he died twenty years ago, his death would have been a tragedy, instead the last twenty years of his life are the tragic fall of a once-legendary performer. He is a musical genius who changed the musical industry, but the grotesqueness and habits of the latter-day MJ are too egregious to sweep under the rug. Yes, he made history and has un untouchable musical legacy, but his outlandish behavior will ensure that the music, as powerful as it is, will be overshadowed by his character quirks.
I agree Ken. You know, I got to this point with Heath Ledger after months of hearing about him. With Michael Jackson it’s taken only a few days. I cannot deal with the endless reportage on his death – not because I don’t care, but because it’s too sad. Another one of my heroes has died suddenly and unexpectedly, it’s devastating, and the constant wallowing, revelling even, in grief, and in every detail of the process of others trying to wrap up such an enormous life, by so much of the press is making it all very painful. I didn’t know him. I don’t want to know all this stuff. Who gets custody of his kids is none of my business. He is still hounded for a crime he was acquitted of. Personally, I’d rather accept that justice was served. I just want to remember him by what he chose to give to the public – his music, his dance, his showmanship.
If some of you don’t think that Martin Bashir didn’t set out to ruin Michael then you must be living in fantasy land. The whole point of that documentary was to get the dirt on him!
For God’s sake the man is dead! Can’t you all just give it a rest! Like it or not he was one the biggest icons of this planet! He was a great human being and deserves to be treated as such! He was loved by billions and none of the trash talk about him is going to change the minds of the billion or so people who are mourning his death! Michael was in all essence very much a boy who never really grew up, but through it all I didn’t lose my faith in him. Yes he made mistakes, but most of the time the ones that pointed the finger at him were only in it because they wanted money! That’s the key here people! Money never forget that!
Glad to see peoples true colors come out
Lets put some of you in the spot light at age 6 and see where you end up.
The man was a hermit in his own house and a very depressed person no privacy and no life lets see how some of yu deal with that!
He may have been a hermit and depressed but let’s be real – at least he had the financial resources to get help and deal with his issues. The fact that he chose not to and that nobody in his family encouraged him (apparently)to seek help is why I don’t feel bad for him.
Ridiculous. I remember seeing that special live and watching Jackson and a child sitting together on his sofa talking to Bashir. MJ and the kid were all over each other. It was very disturbing, and Bashir *told* him that many people would find it very disturbing–and MJ laughed. All Bashir did was show what the man was–a creepy pervert.
That was my comment exactly!! Why are we airing his interview!! Michael just passed, he hasn’t been buried! People are mourning and this guy along with others are STILL bashing him in!! He was an amazing talent!! He will be greatly missed!! There will never be another like him. But a million Martin Bashir’s!!
Bashir is an idiot, who thinks he has a career. Bashir, go back to reporting the weather somewhere else.
I can’t believe that NBC would reair that crap. There is no denying how it’s really f’d up that Bashir befriended and then through editing turned on Michael. That no doubt had to contibute to michaels redrawal from the public eye. It’s a shame that he had die for us admit how much we appreciated him and to really look at our culture and how we really just tear people apart. NBC owes his family and fans an apology they’re so desperate for viewers and all they’re doing is drivig people away.
Folks will always believe the bad first, and is why there are a million Martin Bashir’s getting paid. It doesn’t matter what Michael was then or now. We lost an amazing talented man. There will never be a Michael Jackson. He will be greatly missed as I missed his music. He just became a lost man and no one cared until now. May he be in a better place, where he is loved like he longed for.
“the editing tuned on Michael”. ummm, right. Those weren’t his words, it was all editing. riiiiight.
scary how deaf dumb and blind some people can be.
