There were possibly more good jokes per minute on last night’s Better Off Ted than on any other sitcom this year. The two subplots: Phil and Lem bringing Ted down to the Veridian building basement for Medieval Fight Club (“You’ll bring us street crud,” said clueless malaprop-master Lem), plus Veronica deciding to make Linda her new friend and confiding way too much information. “I’m like her brain-toilet,” complained Linda.
The series continues to achieve a mixture of brutal office-politics satire and surreal whimsy. And in a joke that proved Portia De Rossi doesn’t mind poking fun at herself, her Veronica admitted to Linda, “I used to feed my sister in her sleep so she wouldn’t be skinnier than me.” I admit I had to rewind to make sure I heard that one correctly. Then I laughed, hard. And even harder later, when we actually saw Veronica feeding her sleeping sister, distractedly massaging the slumbering girl’s throat to make sure the food went all the way down.
From the fake Veridian commercials extolling the virtues of management (over a picture of worms: “Without bosses, we’d be like these worms — disgusting”) to Linda’s drunken babble (“I’m completely fit-shased”), this was a new all-time high for Ted. Do you agree?

I like this show but I had no idea it was returning with new episodes. Poor job by EW in not promoting this. Why wasn’t it in the “What to Watch” section?
It’s Linda, not Susan.
Ramo, good question. And here’s the answer: Because EW is too busy pouring all its effort into crap like “Gossip Girls” and “John and Kate, Plus Hate.”
I completely agree! I’ve been a BOT fan since the start, and I hope these summer eps draw more viewers to it. This is the freshest, funniest sitcom since The Office.
I think you mean Linda, not Susan
Like Ken, I had to rewind the “…feeding my sister…” joke a couple of times to make sure I heard it right, too, because that is one of the eleven craziest things I’ve ever heard. LOL
Pretty funny stuff. My only complaint is the the episode was cut off at the end because my recorder switched to a different program.
I am LOVING this show. More and more since episode 1! It makes me wonder–why aren’t many people watching it?
It’s brilliant. Portia de Rossi, Andrea Anders, Jay Harrington are geniuses. The supporting characters shine as well. This i honestly one of the beter sitcoms.
What’s sad is I actually didn’t even know a new episode aired last night. Thank goodness for automatic DVR settings.
Hello, J and Ramo: Hey, you can’t blame me for not trying to call attention to “Ted”:

Best to you both,
Ken
I completely agree. This show is fantastic. Btw, its Linda not Susan, if we are to keep this show on the air, we need to refer to the characters correctly.
Love this show! Yesterday’s episode was my favorite so far. I hope that it doesn’t get canceled by the evil ABC.
Best comedy show ever. I dislike 30 minute comedy shows on TV but this show is fantastic. The writing is excellent and the acting is even better!
Any chance of this show surviving?

This is one of the funniest comedies ever. This show is how the “Dilbert” animated cartoon should have been! It does a terrific job of commentary on corporate culture. I cannot believe there was NO promotion of new episodes in the middle of summer. Too bad it is on ABC instead of CBS. It would be great to show this show after “Big Bang Theory” in the Monday night comedy block.
I was going to watch but had to spray my garden to keep pesky aphids at bay. Crap.
