ALSO people are going to make money off them if they stop doing the show tabloids will be all over them paparrazzi camp out in front of the house. No one is trashing TMZ,or any of the other tabloids for outing Jon and obviously making money off their backs. I think Jon and Kate explaining it on TV isn;t bad. They are showing normal emotion that people have when going through divorce. It is everyone saying it is dirty laundry and they should be ashamed that makes the tabloids richer. What does Kate have to be ashamed of. He cheated not her. People throw it at her all day I am sure so she commented. You think the media is sheilding the kids? Every 15 minutes there is a teaser trailer for ET or the other gossip show. It even has mad regular news? So why shouldn;t she say what she needs to?
Jennifer come on you mean to tell me you never got your hair or nails done, had/was a baby sitter or went to the gym? Tell me how any of that HURTS the kids? you give it a break!
Stephanie, you are clueless. Sorry but no, you’re precious Kate did not have to sell her children’s childhood just to survive. She did not need to live in a mansion, earn millions a year from a TV show that forces her children to parade around in front of the cameras. She is out for $$$$$ and fame. Her kids are clearly at the absolute bottom of her priority list.
I feel sorry for Kate, and I think Jon is a coward. Kate is a strong person, and he is weak. He didn’t mind her taking over and doing all the work, until he had to do some too. He should have been a man and stood up to her and come to an understanding. This problem started when they took GOD out of their home and their lives. It’s very sad.

Stop watching the show…it will get canceled…they will become another notch in divorce court…TLC will just find another show to put in their time slot. So sad.
I AM a mother of multiples. I work an I DO take care of myself, but Kate has put her needs before her children and her marriage. There has been no compromise, b/c she isn’t willing to give up everything that she has been given. She loves the camera, and she isn’t ready to give it up anytime soon. Also, neither one of them are innocent in this, but her condescending attitude was probably the last straw.
Sara people who don’t have answers resort to calling people clueless!!! Do you know how much glasses cost for one child? No less a child that young who breaks or loses them constantly? How about doctor co-pays when all eight get sick, need medication etc. Ok forget about the emergencies but what about diapers, food, housing, electricity, clothes, God forbid one wants to do an afterschool activity or sport, gas, water, childcare…I could go on and on. You also were quick to jump on my answer but even if she was a surgical nurse the most she would make would be $150k a year not enough to cover everything they needed. So tell me what would she do to feed her kids besides going on TV?
Kate can write books without her or her kids being in front of the camera!! Thats how she can raise a family AND have some privacy.
I’m sorry to say it, but I’m happy for Jon. It was painful to watch him being mistreated, unappreciated, and belittled for all of those years. It’s about time he stood up to Kate. I do feel bad for the kids (and for Kate in a way), but I really think in the long run they’ll all be better off. It’s not healthy for kids to watch the people they love fighting all the time. Maybe one day Jon and Kate can truly be friends. I hope they find happiness with new people. With eight kids, maybe 2 moms and 2 dads wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
To John:
Take a lesson from Ashley about what is truly important in life and vital in a marriage. The best thing parents can give to their children is having a truly loving relationship. From that grows confidence, acceptance, hope, joy, forgiveness and all the tools needed for navigating and nurturing relations. Otherwise, the children have to learn it the hard way and suffer as they endure mom & dad’s junk and problems.
So K&J sacrificed in order to give their children fairy dust or as you say “experience all the wonderful things” which are fleeting and meaningless.

I have no sympathy for this immature, irresponsible couple whose fame and fortune is based on the fact they chose to become reproductive freaks. It’s obvious there is something pathological in Kate’s need to have so many kids and to be rich and famous. And now, they choose (for money) to allow the public to witness the disintegration of their family instead of trying to get their children through this mess in privacy. TLC — stop the show NOW. But do revisit the kids in 20 years so all can see how messed up they are. Just think, they will be able to watch their family fall apart in reruns and on DVD over and over again.
