The show’s writer clearly wants a random hot girl in an authority role over Michael–clearly *he* thinks it’s riveting. It won’t matter how much we complain, there will be a random hot girl in an authoritative role played by a woman who doesn’t know how to portray authority without resorting to sultry/haughty/flirtatious/(insert adjective). It’s just the way it is. We watch anyway because we love the rest of the show. We already have Fiona and Madeleine, who have power over Michael through emotional connection; the only way yet another woman could have control is if she was truly powerful, and not just “pretty with a job,” but Dame Judi Dench Kick A$$ powerful. Whatever. Male writer, male director, excuse for hot girl is excuse for hot girl, next!
Loved seeing Nate back!!! The detective character just isn’t intimidating. Why is she his worst nightmare? Carla was far more intimidating and scary from a “how far will she go with Mikes family” point of view. I just don’t think the character brings alot to the story. They should make this season about Mike’s past with his old enemies coming after him. He doesn’t need another nemesis besides the one that’s been there from the beginning, the people who burned him.
Paxson = Dullsville. She’s Carla Lite. She’s got a bad name. What’s her big claim to fame, going through Michael’s garbage? Taking him in for questioning? Even Michael seems bored by her.
I agree with what Skippie said. Apparently the writers think this woman-threatening-Weston formula is sexy or something. We’ve got Fiona, and Miami. That’s plenty sexy enough.
Bummed that my DVR didn’t record it. Will try and catch a rerun this week.
Brennen is my favorite nemesis, Jay Karnes is wonderful in the role.
Agree, Paxson is not needed. I also enjoyed the first season the best because it was only about Michael/Sam/Fi/Madelaine. We don’t need these additional characters (such as Carla and Paxson) to bog down things. Michael has more than enough enemies for one to show up occasionally while trying to help someone out.

I love Burn Notice. Gotta love Sam Axe. I agree… After all of the crazy villains Michael has been up against (Brennen!), a Miami police chick is not a big threat. Boring! Drop that story line!!!
Ok, here’s the prediction… Paxson at some point gets into trouble… i.e. gets taken hostage, her family’s being threatened, she’s getting blackmailed, someone stole her puppy… yadda yadda. Michael to the rescue… Then they hook up! Enter the Fi-Michael-Paxson tension… There! Paxson does have a purpose! Right? Right?
Let’s drop the police detective. I agree now that Michael is back on the grid he should be getting grief from all over but this story line just isnt it.
Drop the cop. OR give her some erronous case material to chase and eventually become an ally. Preferably in a bikini–or not
Drop the cop, or give her some erronous items to use and then slide her into a positive supporting character. perferably in a bikini-or not
Drop her. Nothing against Moon but there is simply no chemistry between her and Jeff.
Wow, most of you people have less patience than network TV executives. She’s had like three short scenes in the two episodes aired so far this season. Give the writers some time to build the plotline.
JayNYC, apparently for some impatience is a virtue. Makes you wonder why great shows are dropping like flies. P.S. To Relax Junior, “annonymous blogger”. ANONYMOUS definition: Having an unknown or unacknowledged name. Can you say “annonymous contradiction”. Finally if you think I was being harsh with my last comment, then you really haven’t explore much in blogging.
