I don’t feel sorry for either one of them. They have eight children, they both need to grow up and take the responsibilty for them. I don’t care who’s happy and who’s not. You chose to have these babies, it is your responsibility to handle it. Stop putting the blame on the T.V. show and anything else they can fine. I’m sure you need the money from all these things to run your household. Bottom line is suck-it-up….and grow up.
…i have watched this show many times over the years it has been on and i believe whole heartedly that Kate is out of her mind! I have never been even able to make it threw an episode with wanting to choke that women! it is unbelievable the way she treats Jon! i cannot believe that their marriage has lasted as long as is has and can only credit Jon for holding on to his family as long as he could. That women is a controlling demon that doesn’t deserve to have a supportive caring man in her life. The poor children. imagine the neurotic type-A personalities that have thrust upon them by that women!

wake up. That does not give a John or Kate the right to cheat. they are both wrong..Kate is just out there and John is whipped..
Best I’ve heard so far is that they’re going to split, each take 4 kids, and train them to fight in preparation for a huge cage match on their 18th birthday…
Wow, whatever happened to empathy and compassion. Until your in their shoes and live their lives you have no idea. All families go through difficult times… Allowing yourself to be filmed should not mean the public should automatically terrorize you and tear you apart as human beings. Sadly I guess thats the world we live in today, people are to busy hoping that others fail rather than focusing on their own lives…
I love when people say that Kate emasculates Jon. Give me a break. Jon is a midlife crisis jerk who can’t handle the pressure of a large family. His parting at night in bars, college bars at that, being photographed with a 23 year girl, two seater sports car, motorcycle….yeah, he’s a great father and husband. This is a man who was fired from his job. And for those wondering what the kids have gotten out of the show? I am sure each has a nice college fund. They live in a nice house, go on all sorts of vacations, are fed regularly and clothed as well. A lot better then many other children. It was Kate who has worked these deals for books and promotions, not Jon. Good for her for being able to run a family with NINE children.

All we know about this family is what the media chooses to show us. Anyone out there married w/children know it’s not easy to juggle a family and a marriage. They are two completely different entities. My hope is that Jon and Kate can remember what life was like before kids and find their love again. The show, I feel, was developed honestly enough as a way to support the family. However, Hollywood is always going to be Hollywood & it seems to have become the third wheel in their marriage. What bothers me is that my kids love the show & my 4th grader came home talking about “Jon’s affair”. I wonder if they realize kids are a big part of the fan base.
Lexi, I agree that we should have compassion for the family. Especially the children. But just watch the promo that EW has linked- Kate is clearly pandering to the curiousity and voyeurism of the audience by teasing about this “important announcement”. They are going through a family crisis caused in no small part by the pressure of publicity and celebrity, yet she participates in something like this promo that just builds up drama and speculation? Come on- these people are thriving on this and clearly have something to gain by it. Perhaps they are contractually bound to continue the show, but I’m sure no contract required Kate to record such a dramatic and overwrought commerical.
These two should grow up and the network and producers of this show should find some standards and ethics
Jon does need to grow up – he is acting like a spoiled teenager. As for the Promo – there must be some type of contract both signed with TLC to do what the show asks of them…..?

Joanne, are you implying that financial comfort and trips to Disney World andcollege funds are what make a happy home? I’m sure that the kids would trade the college money and the McMansions and the spas for happy parents and some semblance of a private, normal life. I think both parents made an extremely poor decision by allowing this show to go on as long as it did, and continuing when they know that being on TV makes them fodder for tabloids.
I know I for one don’t care anything about these people, never watched the retarded show. If you’re interested in them, you may want to consider getting a god-damn life.
