Forget that Mother’s Day-themed episode that was scheduled for Jon & Kate Plus 8 next Monday: There’s going to be a special one-hour edition, in which the Gosselins will “make an announcement,” as Kate says in a promotional commercial voice-over. “We’ve made some life-changing decisions,” she says in the spot.
Coming in the wake of the media flap over pictures of Kate disciplining one of her children, the episode should be widely viewed. Let’s hope the promised “decision” brings everyone some “peace” — the word Kate uses in the commercial.
UPDATE: It’s being reported that the announcement may be of a Gosselin divorce.

I hope they decide to quit the show. If they don’t, I seriously question the judgement here. By putting their lives in the spotlight like this, they’ve whored out themselves and their children, and really should just stop.
I am sure it’s decision to officially seperate. Given until yesterday; they hadn’t been seen together in weeks. He missed their anniversary. They have been in different places with the kids and never together…
So I am sure they have seperated and will announce it on the show to give the world a reason why they haven’t been seen together…
Second guess: just like a sitcom, the producers feel the need to re-cast one of the leads to spruce things up. Since the producers are fans of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and since one of their actresses was the victim of a similar ploy, Jon will now be replaced by the first woman to play Will Smith’s Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert. The “announcement” refers to Kate having to tell the kids how daddy died in a horrible coke deal gone wrong and how Aunt Viv is now their second mommy. Odds of this happening: 5 to 2.
I’m guessing the tease is that they’ll be announcing that the show is ending or that Jon and Kate are getting divorced/are separating. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the announcement turned out to be something silly like “We’re going to Disney World!”

Just a word of advice to all you idiots. Ratings are not ‘falling’ for the show. Last season the show averaged 2.9 million viewers. This season the lowest rated episode was 2.9 million viewers. This is outstanding for a cable show. Yes the first two episodes were bigger but that was everyone tuning in to see what the fuss was about. Now it is just back to the normal viewers who are staying loyal.

When did being fertile and having problems in your marriage make for must see TV? It all seems so trivial.
I think it’s the big D. Wouldn’t be surprised. If she’s on her best behavior when cameras are rolling, can you imagine how she treats Jon when cameras are off? She emasuclates him at every turn… she yells at him for everything from putting weekend shoes on during the weekday, and putting pink scrunchies in the girl’s hair when pink scrunchies are for church only. I hear she’s worse than this when cameras are off. rumor is the neighbors don’t like her. I just hope he files for at least 50/50 custody. she can’t handle the stress. while I don’t think spanking is abuse, she used it out of frustration and exasperation. it was an over reaction to the situation, then to push her kid away and leave the older sisters to comfort her shows she can’t handle the stress. He needs to keep a close eye on those kids. I don’t condone his cheating, but I understand his need to be treated like a man, or at the very least, an equal. I feel bad for the kids.
How sick would it be to have a dramatic promo to build up anticipation for the announcement of your divorce or separation? Short of revealing that they are ending the show, I can’t see any legitimate family event that could be publicizied in such a manner. What unpleasant, opportunistic people.
He has surely be the dumbsh*t of the year. How can he smoke a bud in his house? This has to be the bottom for all the fans of the show including me. But I also saw an article where Mady caught Kate kissing her bodygurad. So who know what the sad thing is this is the end of a beutiful family. Jon and Kate could kiss all their sponsers, book deals, t.v. shows, appearances good bye for good.

I do not watch Jon & Kate + 8, so I can not comment on their relationship outside of what we see in the media. What I can say is that I did watch the American Chopper episode with Jon & Kate, and you would have to be blind not to notice how miserable this guy Jon was. I mean oh man was he just miserable. Every time he spoke he just sounded so defeated. I actually felt bad for the guy. Even when he got the bike at the end of the episode he was just so blah. Poor guy!! I hope it is the big D, maybe then he can get out there and be happy again.
Those 8 children will be just fine despite their parents’ inadequacies. In fact, The last show should be about Kate taking all the kid’s to a job retraining workshop that teaches them how to sell chiclets gum at the beach.
