hey sarah palin, you don’t want jokes about your 18 year old daughter out there? two things.
    1. don’t let her, an unwed teenage mother, be the face of abstinence only education.
    2. don’t teach your children that condoms are evil and sinful. teach them about being a responsible adult these days, which includes practicing safe sex.

The reason Sara (and family) are the butt of jokes is because she makes it so gosh darn EASY!! :-)

    @Jerry
Noone can make a joke about the president’s daughters ebcause they are black. There were all kinds of jokes made about Clinton’s daughter and the Bush twins OVER AND OVER again WHILE their father was in the White House. But there will be no jokes about the Obama girls, because that would be racist and our supreme (Czar invoking) socialist president would have them censored and hung before the entire nation….

Letterman has been attacking Gov Palin and family since the campaign . He’s was
stalked and learned nothing from his own experience. That speaks volumes…….

Dave should not apologize. It was a joke. Palin is just a pretty face and should never run for politics. She needs to bring her children up and set an example first in her own household!

by the way, there’s a great post by someone named david’s advocate in the main story, not ken tucker’s blog, that has a collection of jokes by leno and conan that were made when the girl was 17 and involve john edwards and an entire hockey team. he or she also brings up the incest-hinting snl skit. why didn’t any of these jokes cause an uproar? because palin didn’t need her name in the news during the election.

Letterman is trying to keep his job .
He could care less about the Palin family………

Ken, sir, you are an ass! David Letterman did the right thing here and you still want to make this about the Palin’s being media hungry opportunists instead of really angry and concerned parents.
Why don’t you just wait a few hours to see if the apology is accepted or not.
The fact is bad jokes happen. Dave made a bad joke and even though it took him a few days to realize it Dave did the right thing to say he goofed and was sorry.
And as far as all of the Palin haters that have posted their venom on this matter just ask yourself this one question. What if it was your daughter?
One last thought. What politician isn’t a media hungry opportunist?

I have always been a Letterman fan but I do feel the joke was tasteless even if it was referring to the older daughter. On the Palin side I have always had a distaste for her and it goes back prior to her rocket rise to stardom as the VP nominee. She is nothing but an opportunist who is not above anything, including using her own children (and soon, her grandchild), to gain more publicity for herself and her political career. And I’m sure she won’t rest until she sees Letterman kicked off the air. If she had paid as much attention to her family as she does her career I’m sure her childrens lives would be quite different. I agree with tucker, Palin will play this out as long as it get her publicity, it’s all about keeping your name out there. She’s as desparate for publicity as McCain was to revitalize his campaign and I hope for our sake she fizzles out as did he. Our founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves.

There are far more important news issues out there like our soldiers are dying daily and congress is trying to get another raise…build a bridge and get the hell of it….Palin isn’t worth it.

When Palin paraded her pregnant daughter before the RNC Convention on national television she left the impression that an ilegitimate pregancy is acceptable This did great harm to all our young girls by implying that this behavior is acceptable. People who live in glass houses etc, etc.

Who watches that creep anyway. He is sick.

  • Ratzoe

Letterman did the right thing. Kids(under 18) should be left alone as fodder for the jokemeisters. What I find funny here, is the hate and venom of the ‘peace, love, dove’ party. Kinda ironic..lmao

  • Mikey V

Yes, it is enough, especially of Palin. Isn’t her 15 minutes up yet?

  • Knickerbocker

I’m glad he finally apologized. Decent people of all political persuasions were deeply offended by his comments and no amount of rationalization justifies what he said. Let’s move on.
