Hmmm. A certain theme is emerging on The Late Show with David Letterman. Read the full post.

Wow, that was really unnecessary and childish for Julia to make that snipe at Conan. Between this and her foul-mouthed “speech” to Tom Hanks… man, this woman has lost all class and likability. No wonder she hasn’t had a hit film in years.
And why does there have to be a late-night war? Why can’t Dave and Conan co-exist peacefully? Conan has said nothing but nice and admiring things about Dave, so why are Dave’s guests “suddenly” trashing Conan? I am really losing respect for Dave here.

@Laura- I don’t think you should lose respect for Dave because of what his guests say- he really doesn’t have any control over what comes out of other people’s mouths.

While I think it’s lame that NBC goaded Obama into commenting on Conan (and is airing it like an endorsement) – I’m watching Colbert from Iraq this week. Good stuff.
And am I the one noticing that NBC is stuffing its latenight shows with Universal affiliated actors and actresses. It’s kind of embarrassing seeing them try and shock Land of the Lost back to life.

You know, it’s ok to like them all for different reasons. I’ve always preferred Dave, but I like Conan too. Dave has the edgy and almost curmudgeonly feel going on that I like, but Conan has a loosey-goosey (though not as loose as Craig Ferguson’s *brilliant* stream of consciousness thing he has going on) feel and a certain almost existential feel to some of his comedy. It’s all good and entertaining as far as I’m concerned. Jimmy Fallon is even getting better, but he still hasn’t completely won me over yet.

They are both hilarious. But I prefer Dave slightly over Conan.

Julia will alway be Hollywood Royalty, and her appearance on Letterman helped him win the ratings… Though given his competition, I don’t think Letterman would have had any problems earning those ratings on his own.

Love Dave Letterman always have, I never liked Jay Leno, but I do like Conan. I will DVR late night TV depending on the guest.. I am also a big fan of Jimmy Kimmel, and Crag Ferguson. Jimmy Fallon is getting better, I loved it when he had Kris Allen on his show, did anyone hear how great Kris sounded singing Heartless, and Jimmy is a gracius host.
Julia hasn’t had a movie in years because she has been at home being a MOMMY…

Norm MacDonald has always been booked for Wednesday. There was no bump.

Ugh, anybody see Nikki Finke’s horrible article on Conan’s and Dave’s ratings.
I like how quickly everyone forgets that it took FOREVER for Jay to do well in the ratings. He did horribly and was beaten by Dave for years.

I think it was actually really nice of Julia to say that. It is refreshing for her to be honest and say that she likes Dave best rather than try to be PC and say she loves everyone. Also, she has known Dave for a long time, she is probably trying to make him feel better about the fact that he was losing in the ratings for a little while.

People sure are funny! Regardless if you like Dave, Conan, Craig, Jimmy or the man in the moon – there is NO war in Late Night television. These guys make a bazillion dollars a year and it’s entertainment, not war! Bless them all for their great talent!

Is it just me or is Julia Roberts becoming more of a b-word the older she’s getting?

  • HI

Let’s face it. Conan’s style is more for the college crowd. Dave Letterman should poise himself to take back the more mature crowd. Some things that Conan does are funny, but most are for the “puke through the nose” age group that finds that type of comedy funny.

julia roberts is a nasty hag who never had talent

I really don’t get why there has to be a “war.” I like Conan. I like Dave. Is there something wrong with me, or are there others out there who see no reason for war?
