David Letterman’s joke was tasteless, yes. Sarah Palin has blown in out of proportion, yes. But it could all be “fixed” by Letterman simply saying that he never intended to suggest anything perverted about Palin’s daughter or any other young girl and that he apologizes to Sarah Palin, to her daughters and to young women around the world who might have been offended by his joke.
But he won’t. Why? It’s all about ratings. His are up, why put out the fire??
If this remark had been made about a liberal or about one of the Obama girls, there would be no more Dave Letterman. The women’s groups and Afican Americans would have made sure of that. I more disappointed in the women of this country than ever. Bad taste should have no political affiliation. I am sick of Comedian’s hiding behind the fact that they are just comedian’s. These celeb’s are here to entertain us, we really don’t want to know their political views. I have stopped watching some starsand have lost a lot of respect for a lot of them because of their nastiness during this election. Get back to what you do best, and talk about you politics with your friens and spouse and leave it out of your work!!!!!
Here is my view. If IMUS was fired for what he said then David Letterman should be fired and banned from TV. It is obvious he has lost the ability to determine what is funny and what is just plain mean plus in my opinion close to slander. CBS Please take him off the air!!!

It’s amazing to me (once again) that there are no female celebrities in an uproar about this statement by him. Especially the ones with daughters of their own. It goes to show you, that had a conservative host said the exact same thing, there would be hell to pay! Deny it if you wish, but it’s the damn truth!
Who the hell is Letterman to even be criticizing a woman for having a child out of wedlock. He had one!
I like both Letterman and Conan, but I haven’t watched either for years since The Daily Show and Colbert Report. Those are the funniest and have the most interesting guests.

How weary I grow of American Puritanism. The Europeans don’t much have this problem. Palin is, with all due respect (???) an intellectual slug and an offense to our constitutional freedoms. Dave’s joke was pretty tasteless, but it was funny nonetheless. Many of the funniest comedians make tasteless jokes. So get over it.
