Patti Blagojevich on 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!': 'This is a piece of cake compared to the nightmare I've been living'

I will spare you the details of the inevitable return of Heidi and Spencer to the damp bosom of I’m a Celebrity on Monday night. I’m not going to quote any of their mindlessly incessant invocations of God and Jesus lest a Higher Being smite me down for repeating their fervent blather.

But there was a moment of interest for anyone still following the travails of disgraced governor Rod Blagojevich, who was denied his moist spot on the I’m a Celebrity log in favor of his wife, Patti.

Until now, Patti has been pretty tight-lipped — keeps her head down, does her chores. But this night she finally did what she undoubtedly hoped to do all along: Sob in front of a network audience about, as she put it, “the nightmare I’ve been living through the past six months.”

“We’re just trying to keep our house,” said Patti, wiping away tears. “I’m driving around in a 21 year-old car.”

Aw, boo-hoo, Patti. Tell it to folks who’ve lost their jobs and don’t get to go on TV reality-game shows.

Then again, she did have to listen to Heidi sing an a capella version of some godawful “original” song. “You’re twisted/As a liar you’re gifted,” Heidi yowled. Then she explained, “That’s my, like, rock song.” Eeek.

Maybe the court deciding Rod Blagojevich’s fate should just lock him in a room with an endlessly-repeated Heidi song for a month…

Dumbell should never, ever, EVER sing again. Better yet, she sould never ever talk again. Anyone that has to talk with a baby voice should never speak. And enough with the goddamn hairspray!

I really really feel bad for Patti. When she calls that place a piece of cake…can you image her life at home? Wow.
It’s really sad that her and her kids are paying for her husband’s actions.

Can’t we just vote out that British host? Her twitchy arm and body movements and that constant fake smile are annoying and her head is way too big for her body.

Oh NO! After a few hours in the jungle Heidi and Spencer are heading back to the hotel! Those Bastards!
To liken Heidi’s singing to the sound of a drowning cat is an insult to drowning cats everywhere.

Pretty funny that Montag thinks of Sanjaya as an expert in singing. I like the guy though. He’s turning into Tarzan,

Best snarky comment tonight was when someone suggested shoving Heidi’s “Dry Shampoo” down her throat. Priceless. Almost worth the 8 or 10 hours sucked out of my life. How those 2 idiots (Speidi) garnered this much prime-time screen time is beyond my comprehension. Buh Buh!

I find Patti likeable. I don’t get how she’s a celebrity, because I never heard of Blago’s wife until this show, but you can see how a whole family can be wrecked by the actions of one of its members. Maybe it’s just stacking her up against the likes of Speidi and Janice Dickinson. Attila the Hun would look good next to them. (Sorry Patti, wasn’t trying to make the comparison there.)

apparently she has worked out a financial arrangement with the dry shampoo company. That also explains why she cried when they ripped off her labels.

Back off Patti. After all, her husband did lose his job, and she’s competing for charity on the show, not herself. Also, she seems nice.

Perhaps we could get Survivor Coach Wade’s ferocious South American pygmies to kidnap Speidi and remove them from the civilized world altogether.

Great recap. Nothing about Frances leaving. Nothing about Janice freaking out in the croc-tank (while Sanjaya totally kept his cool). But I will say it’s better than NBC’s editing job, which forced us through nearly a full hour of listening to those 2 dimwitted narcissists prosletyzing about Jesus. Seriously, someone needs to tell them it sounds like a cat getting wet. Does NBC think viewership will increase for that stuff? There are religious channels for people who can tolerate it (much less have any interest)

Wow Ken, have a heart. I am finding Patti extremely sympathetic. Regardless of what her husband did, she and her children do not deserve the circumstance they find themselves in. I commend her for 1) raising awareness of her charity and 2) doing whatever a mother can to take care of her kids.

Patti is crying because she is so humiliated to be on this trash reality show. I guess they must be paying her something, but she is paying also by losing her dignity.

I didn’t know she had a 20 year old car, that sucks. http://www.obamalovematch.com/

Patti is likeable but she’s just as much to blame as Carmela Soprano is, for reaping the benefits of corruption.
I have always loved Sanjaya. Even when faced with the ridicule of the nation, he remained a very sweet and loving person. I’m glad that America is getting to see how amazing this kid is. I’ll watch The Hills if he appears on there with Holly.
