Boy, things sure were hoppin’ in late-night last night. During Craig Ferguson’s pre-monologue moment, he acknowledged Conan’s move to The Tonight Show, and reminisced about the days when he and the red-haired giant used to “strip naked and wrestle” for ratings. Then he noted the new competition: “me and the Fallon boy,” as he put it:
Ferguson, compulsively honest, implicitly acknowledged the ratings challenge Fallon has posed since his premiere. But, Ferguson also being compulsively pugnacious (well, not really, but I like the way those two words sound together), said, “I hereby challenge Jimmy Fallon to naked on-air wrestling.”
All this, plus an excellent interview with cuddly, smart, scary-film-maker-turned-novelist Guillermo del Toro, promoting his horror novel The Strain. They bonded over a mutual love of H.P. Lovecraft. (I ask you: Does any other late-night host even know who Lovecraft was?) Del Toro said his book answers the question, “What happens to a vampire’s genitals?”
Which, of course, brings us back to the Ferguson-Fallon naked wrestling challenge. It probably won’t happen, but it’s… icky to think about, fun to laugh at.

Craig Ferguson is consistently funny in an original way, and he makes all of his guests funny too–he brings out the best in them, which is the resl job of the talk-show host. I’ve watched a few of Fallon’s shows, and he’s too in love with the sound of his own voice, constantly talking over his guests and trying to out-funny them. I won’t be watching him anymore. CRAIG FTW in naked wrestling!
“I ask you: Does any other late-night host even know who Lovecraft was?” I would be surprised if Conan didn’t know. He’s actually pretty intellectual, even if he doesn’t always seem like it.
Gosh, I love Ferguson!! Conan is good, Dave and Jay and Jimmy, all meh. But Ferguson – that accent just drives me bonkers! And he should strip nekkid and wrestle every day as far as I’m concerned.

Craig makes me laugh more than any late-night personality. Conan runs a close second, but Jimmy Fallon is nowhere to be seen. Go Craig!
I also like Ferguson very much. Especially the interviews. But lately Fallon has been growing on me – his comedy pieces are hilarious and he seems so relaxed. It depends on the guest.

Did anyone notice that Fallon and Ferguson made the exact same joke about Octomom last night- Her new show is going to be called “I’m a baby get me out of here.” Hmmm…..
I really like Jimmy Fallon’s show. Enjoyed it after Conan and liked it better actually. Don’t care to much to watch Late Night shows in general but if Fallon’s on and I am awake, I watch his show and enjoy it.

Ferguson is very unique! He is like no other late night talk show host and that’s what I love about him. All the others are too predictable. He’s in a class by himself. No other late night talk show host makes me laugh as well talk about subjects that I want to know more about. He’s the most geninue and honest. CBS, you need to keep this guy around.
