When True Blood premiered last season, I watched the first few episodes and gave it what amounted to a shrug of a review. Read the full post.

I think it’s one of the best vampire shows, Corine. And all you Twilight fans, this isn’t your teen show… It’s for adults…and Alan Ball is at his best! The books are great and I hope the show airs as long as Harris puts out books. No. 10 due out in 10/09.

Fantastic show. Seen the first 7 eps and am completley hooked. Will see the remaining eps next week then wait until the 2nd season starts.

After watching Season One I am completely hooked! I bought and read the entire book series (twice) by Charlaine Harries and I recommend it to anyone who loves the show. The books go into a lot more detail on the characters!

    Carine,
I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU MIGHT HAVE SPOILED PART OF THE SECOND SEASON for those who haven’t read the books. You suck!

I looooooooove this show to a ridiculous level 4 stars all the way

  • Maurie

I hope you’re not the same guy that thought Katherine Heigl deserves an Emmy award. I can only hope. But YES! True Blood is brilliant and well acted. It’s getting a little annoying that HBO and SHOWTIME insist on constant sex scenes. Can’t we have a show that sticks to the content? Other than that, THIS SHOW RULES. Bill cracks me up. He’s so old-fashioned and serious. I love when he offered warm Fresca to the cop. A dorky vampire is somehow just what I need right now :)

I agree with “Maurie”. The show is witty and upbeat, constantly moving along. Bill has just the right amount of charm and sensuality and sincerity to keep the show moving. However, the unnecessary random, constant sex scenes aren’t needed. I’d much rather watch the show for its content and plot line than sex.
Besides that: bring on season 2!

Dare I say the TV series is much better than the book. I tried reading the 1st book after watching season1 and found it almost unreadable.

I can’t help but get alittle annoyed at people who’ve never read the books and are so stubborn on the Sookie/Bill hook-up. Maybe if you all knew the whole story about Bill, you’d change your mind. Yes, I believe he does love her, but their relationship started out on lies. Eric has always been honest with her and knows what her needs are and always helps her out financially. He loves her too. He is sexy, funny and has so much more personality than Bill. I’m sure Allan Ball will not stray from Charlaines books and disappoint so many fans who fell totally in love with ERIC!!

I did not always like the direction Harris took with Sookie in her books. The Sookie character was always too independent and should have let the men in her life love her more. I am truly an Eric fan!
