'Glee' the day after: What did you think?

OK, you’ve read my review, you’ve read my colleague (Not) Timorous Tim Stack’s numerous postings on Fox’s novel musical-comedy-something-new show, so I’d like to know:

Did you watch Glee last night? (If you missed it, you can watch it now on Hulu.)

Did you watch Idol and then watch Glee, or tune in just for Glee?

Did you like its mixture of music and plot — its attempt to be an authentic musical for television — or did you find it contrived?

And finally: Will you watch Glee again when it returns again, in the fall?

All opinions most welcome; thanks.

I thoroughly enjoyed Glee and I will be watching in the fall. My only complaint would be the wife was more a caricature than a character. There must have been something redeeming about her for him to marry her. I hope they make her more real. Other than that, loved it.

Didn’t watch Idol, but decided to turn in to catch Glee. Loved it! Actually felt happy after watching. Don’t know if they can keep up the feel good writing, but I’m definitely looking forward to it’s return in the fall.

Watched it, really enjoyed it. The music totally blasted Idol out of the water, IMHO.

How could you NOT love Glee? I thought it was great. Funny, awkward, and tearful moments refresh memories that you had forgotten. I look forward to fall. And Jane Lynch so deserves to be on tv full time.

Watched and LOVED Glee. Not so much American Idol. Adam Lambert?…buh-LEEEECCHHHH!!!

Oh I watched the Glee (yes, I think the definite article is due) … it’s musicality was, for me, everything that Idol wasn’t. (i.e. FUN!) The show itself is quite predicatable, but enjoyable nonetheless. I’ll be back in the fall. Don’t stop believin’!

I found myself more excited to watch Glee than AI last night. I thought it was good, not great, but first episodes of series are always like that. And I have ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ stuck in my head.

Watched it. Kept it on Fox after American Idol, but y’all have been pimping this show so much, I prbably would have tuned in without the lead in. I enjoyed it. You may have ratcheted my expectations a teesy bit too high with all the hype, but overall, I thought it was good. I’ll definitely tune in this Fall to see how it progresses.

The first 10 minutes of Glee had more (and better) music than the entire hour of American Idol. I loved it! Of course, I’m a huge theatre dork, but I loved it!!

it was ok. i enjoyed it for what it was, but not sure if its sustainable as a series. sort of how i felt about pushing daisies.

I loved the potential in it more than I actually loved the Pilot. They seemed sort of hard pressed to progress the story and some of the character development faltered as a result. That said, I loved it. Watched it twice already. The talent is staggering. Can’t wait til the fall.

  • Elizabeth

Yeah, I watched, and I enjoyed it, but….
is this going to have enough legs to be a full-on series for more than one year?

  • Susan

great show! a lot of fun and the talent is an added plus. can’t wait until it comes back in the Fall!

  • Daisy

I tuned in just to see Glee and I was not disappointed. I haven’t laughed that hard since Arrested Development

  • welshgirl
