Wow, people are so harsh. I love Kate and I think she is a terrific Mom. I know I could never do as well with eight kids.
Cut her a little slack, please? Jon has been out acting a fool with college girls. Of course, she gets to live that embarrassment in the public eye, too. Don’t you think that would make you a little bit grouchy?
Everything she does is to benefit and provide for those children. They are adorable and very lucky to have Kate as their Mom.
I agree that Kate seemed very mean sprited during last night’s episode but I guess it makes for good TV!! She is very TV savy at this point. I’m still gonna watch.
I watch this show because parts of it are great. However, I think that Kate treats Jon just awful and I don’t blame him for trying to get away from her for a little while. As far as the kids go, I think Maddie is a little brat and could use a good wap on her rear end! I have never seen such an awful kid – I guess she gets it from her mom! You take Kate and Maddie off this show and it would be perfect!
I loved the show and I love this family. I sure wish that the people who hate the
Gosselins would stop watching the show and stop GOSSIPING about them. If I read one more comment that starts with “don’t watch the show but love to read what you all write about them here” Of course they are reading a hate site. And to think that all the lies and name calling and hate they are spreading is all in the name of concern. Concern for the exploitation of children! Amazing.
For all of you telling the “haters” to stop watching the show, I think you are seeing a lot of people like me who used to LOVE the show and watch it all the time. But, as Kate gets nastier and uglier to other people (especially poor Steve!), people are getting turned off to the show. I recorded it and couldn’t even make it through the whole hour because she was being so awful!
I’ve been watching Jon&Kate + 8 since season 1, I just find that Kate is getting meaner, snobby, ungrateful wth each season. I love watching the but have been getting turned off at her attitude towards people, events and how unappreciative she is about all the things that is done and give to her family. Her attitude towards Jon is at times down right de-meaning to a man. She lucky that Jon is a man and hasn’t put her in her place in front of camera’s because he IS A thoughful person and must love her enough not to embarase her. She was so ungrateful,just wined about not making a mess, total ingorance towards workers when they’re talking about all the good things going on and being down for her. I’d love for a crew to come over and fix up my home…I’ll help clean up. KATE be a little nicer, watch how you were at the beginning, you had smaller home, more work but you were nicer & appreciative towards others when you got help. You’re coming across very snobby!
how can they claim to be “going green” when they use an ungodly amount of paper plates, styrofoam cups (not even recycable!), and plastic utensils? Sorry – seems like just another “freebie” for them and a show for Steve.
It’s 2009… Kate is using sarcasm. It’s dry humor that people wouldn’t get unless you were face to face with her. It’s obvious that she cares since she baked them food, she just has a strong personality. I find it weird that when guys are rude and sarcastic its funny but if a female does it she’s rude and obnoxious. People come with different personalities, she is obviously the dominant figure in the house. But I can also see why people are complaining because they obviously choose to sit and watch this show over and over and over then blog about it over and over.
Um, was it just me or was Steve Thomas into Kate just a little too much? I was kind of grossed out throughout the whole episode.
When I was watching this last night, Maddy is totally turning into Kate. Like one was not enough.
I think the younger kids and Jon are great. God bless him for putting up with Kate. She is so nasty and ungrateful. I wouldn’t be complaining like her if I had a beautiful house, healthy children, and a caring husband. Oh, and the fact that I just need to be on TV to support my family and not work (she obviously has help with the kids, housework, and these vacations they have are obviously paid for!)
Why did the children’s Valentines cards say that Kate loved them wherever they are and wherever she is?
Because she is only home 5 days a month!
And they were only signed by Mommy!! I guess Kate forgot they had a dad because Valentine’s day was on the weekend when John was at his mother’s house and partying with the coeds is why. This little heart-party was spliced into the show.

I love how Ken Tucker knows he has been bashed for being such an obvious Kate-hater, so he tries to mask it in this article. But it’s very obvious he is still just hating on her.
The truth is.. Kate was nice and sweet in this episode. But she was barely even in it. It was mostly about Jon, the renovations, and some shots of the kids. So how Ken Tucker can take Kate’s 5 minutes of airtime in an hour show into more than half of his article …. It is just beyond me.
I agree with some of the other commenters – Kate was barely even in this episode, and people are still complaining about her.
When she said to Steve “Most of what you just said is going to get edited out” was not rude. It was a joke, and it was the truth. It wasn’t mean of her to say that at all. He was talking about construction/economic mumbo-jumbo and that’s boring to most viewers, so it was edited out.
People really need to get over themselves. You are complaining that “Kate didn’t even want to see the solar panels on the roof! She didn’t even care!” But I can only imagine how you would have reacted if she DID want to see them. “Can you believe Kate wanted to see the solar panels on the roof?? What a control freak!”
Honestly, if you hate the show, stop watching it. It’s that simple. Watching the show, reading about the show and commenting about the show only gives it more publicity and makes it last longer. IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, SHUT UP.
