For some of us, the big Fox attraction tonight isn’t American Idol: It’s the return of Fringe for the final six new episodes of its first season. Trust me: I have seen tonight’s episode, titled “Inner Child,” and it’s one of the show’s best so far. It’s got a lot going for it:
• A serial killer called The Artist, for a very good reason
• Anna Torv’s agent Olivia Dunham bonds with a mysterious boy with empathic powers
• For Fringe mythology fans, you get a nice glimpse of The Observer and a couple of new clues about The Pattern
• For Fringe non-mythology fans, you get genius-loony Dr. Walter Bishop dancing to Al Green’s “Love and Happiness”
What else can I do to make you watch? Oh, yeah: This show does not have Danny Gokey or any of that crappy music!
So will you watch, please, and tell me what you think tomorrow? And are there any Idol fans (sorry if I insulted you) who also watch Fringe? I’m curious if there’s much overlap…

I wasn’t at first, but I am now totally on board with this show.
I’m a fan of Fringe and Idol – I realize I’m one of the few….
A solid two hours of t.v. tonight.
I love both Fringe and Idol, so I am a proud overlapper!
If any show should be pulling viewers away from Idol tonight, it should be The Mentalist. The show is phenomenal and definitely not getting enough love from EW.
Ever saw this one on ___ WealthyRomances com ___
It ‘s where you have the opportunity dreaming about dating a millionaire and make it true!
I love Fringe and watch Idol (but consider it more as a comedy than any sort of “talent” show). So I suppose that doesn’t qualify me as an Idol “fan.” I mostly just watch it to read Slezak’s recaps and Idolatry. Any chance of having a TV Watch for Fringe?
I have been counting the days until the return of FRINGE! I am so happy its back; however, disappointed there’s only 6 episodes left. We’re getting totally cheated.
I think this is the second season, not the first
ehh.. its def the first.
im crazy about Fringe, and Thank God is coming back at last, im dying to watch tonight’s episode, i really miss Dr.Bishop and Peter’s sarcasm,
I am an overlapper, but I am waaay more excited about the return of Fringe tonight! (The Osbournes is the reason we had to wait an extra week? Seriously??)Fringe, Supernatural and Lost are without a doubt my 3 favorite shows right now!
I am also a Fringe and Idol overlap, and have been excitedly awaiting Fringe’s return. (This is how I felt about LOST.)
As much as I love the idea of this show, I simply can’t watch anything that stars Pacey. I just look at his face and I get annoyed all over again.
I watch both.
I watch Idol, yes, but as far I’m concern I could care less about who wins or who gets voted off when it comes to Fringe. I’m certainly glad they’re on the same channel, at different time slots, but if they weren’t, it would be Fringe for me. No question. Ever since Pushing Daisies was cruelly axed, Fringe has been my favorite show on TV (and I have a LOT of shows to follow.) It’s brilliant. Although it started off a bit slow, the season picked up and I can gurantee it will stay on for quite some time. The orginality in undeniable (another masterpiece from JJ Abrams!) and the characters are amusing and engaging. John Noble is hilarious, and Anna Torv is excellent. If this is one of the best episodes ever on Fringe, it must be one of the best on television. Yes, I encourage EVERYBODY to watch. Don’t be turned off by its underwhelming first few episodes. I’ve been waiting for this too long. Watch, watch, watch!
