Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t care about Doug or Carol . I never thought Doug Ross was this great character but I was excited to see Benton and Carter together again. “You married a sister”! Loved that! Happy to see Benton and Chloe are still together. Loved them together especially that Christmas episode where he asked her to move in with him. Glad to see he also finally became a good teacher. But Luka and Abby are my heart. They are the supercouple of the show. I have watch ER since it started but for me it is Abby and Luka.
Definitely should be an Emmy for Noah Wyle. He was great in The Librarian series too. I hope they do a 4th movie of that.
I’ll admit I hadn’t watched ER since Julianna’s swan song in 2000. Doug and Carol were the reason I tuned in. When I read online a few days ago that they were both going to reprise their roles one more time I set my DVR. I was not disappointed. I thought nothing could beat that Seattle dock scene. I was wrong. They have both matured and most importantly are still deeply in love. That last scene was a gem. Thank you to John Wells for on last beautiful momory to the passion that was Doug and Carol.
i heart all things ER!!!
It was great, although it moved a teeny bit slow for me, and I absolutely could not believe that Doug didn’t ask about Carter – that’s just ridiculous. Otherwise, the moments between Doug and Carol were totally priceless, and I love anything and everything that has Carter in it.
Loved the show. Have watched every episode since the beginning. They are doing the last season with class. It’s fun waiting to see who will turn up next. Think I’ll order season 1 on DVD and then this last season when it comes out.
For all that the folks on ER get right, it was annoying to hear Julianna Margulies mispronounce “Spokane”. Any long-time resident of Seattle knows that the name of that city on the other side of the state is pronounced “Spo-CAN”, not “Spo-CANE”. (I suppose we should be grateful it wasn’t Puyallup or Sequim instead.)
I figured Ross had somehow heard that Carter was in Africa therefor he didn’t ask about him. How great was it that Clooney’s appearance wasn’t just a short cameo this time? The Spo-Cane mistake bothered me a bit as a long time Northwesterner but it is a TV show after all. Marguiles was great as well. Loved it!
Hah, I saw the earrings as well. I mean I was already wondering why their hair looked so coifed (yes, I know it’s TV) but if Ross is that sleep he can barely respond to her, I think he would have been a little more rumpled I thought… and then I noticed the shiny gold hoops. I had a laugh. It was a very nice episode though!
I started watching ER when I was 17 and a senior in high school in 1994 when the show first aired My friends used to have “ER” get-togethers in college, because we were in love with “Dr. Ross” and “Dr. Carter”. This episode reminded me of why I was such an ER fan. To me the show hasn’t been the same since Dr. Greene “passed” and I still remember his last episode.
I have been sad and happy watching this last season of ER. I was really sad with the death of Dr. Pratt at the beginning and I know I will be a bit teary-eyed at the end of the season finale.
Hats off to the producers of ER-this has been their greatest year ever. Each episode has been better than the previous one.It was so great seeing the “old timers”.I will sadly miss this show-they just do not make dramas like this anymore-you can have all your reality and talk shows-these characters were “family” each week.
ER was and still is one of the finest shows ever on television. Throughout its fifteen year run, we learned that medicine was more about the people. In an age where we consistently see some of the pitfalls of the American Healthcare System, ER showed us that there are people trying to do what was best for their patients. Yes, at times it as maybe a little too cautious or optimistic, but it was a great story that kept us coming back again and again. Even with the numerous cast changes, there were some excellent replacements, from Ming Na to Angela Bassett. It is sad that once ER ends its run, we will need to find another show to fill the void. But after fifteen years, it will be hard to replace.
