Thad, you are so clueless! We love you though!!!!

All of Pro-Chris responses are WACKED-OUT. You should all be beaten in the face till you spit up blood. Only then will you understand. If he beat another man, it would wrong, but this is serious and he should be in jail. What does this have to do with Oprah? Hope she encourages other women to fight back, speak out, or at least not to be a victim of some cruel immature pig.

“There’s no excuse for a man to put his hands on a woman, ever, ever, ever.”
what BS, somebody hits another person for no good reason that person has lost any protection from being hit back even if you have the right parts to hide behind or the right parts that require you to take it

“Islamic law and the Koran permit men to beat their wives if they disobey”.
Can you please elaborate on this comment. Good christian men beat their wives too. Chris Brown is not a muslim, so i dont understand how this comment relates. In addition i very rarely witness mulsim women walking around with black eyes and a swollen, punched out face.In addition, would you be kind enough to tell us how the koran encourage men to bash and choke women.
    Tip: read the verse.

I look up to Rhianna (and most of the artists I download on my ipod) so this is very hard for me to comprehend. I think if Chris tells her he is sorry and that he loves her it’s all fine. Men can’t express themselves as well as women so they tend to use their hands to speak.

Oprah Winfrey needs to mind her own personal relationship business and leave Chris Brown and Rihanna the hell alone to work out their own young growing up madness!!!!!

  • eclipse9

People in these positions need to realize that they are role models whether they want to be or not. Rhianna made a mistake by taking him back. Here she had an opportunity to take a stand and show some guidance and instead showed that it’s ok if he beats me and says he’s sorry. She’s young and there are better men out there. The right one is one that won’t hurt you, but treat you like a princess.

    People here are disgusting.
Men are the majority of victims in domestic violence? Since when? Feminism is a sickness? Why, because equality is sickening? Good Lord, what is wrong with people! This is forum is a perfect example of Western arrogance and ignorance. I could give any of you stats and facts about the treatment of women globally that would make your skin crawl.

“Husband, discipline your disobedient wives, deny them sex and beat them.” (K 4:34)
Besides, you don’t know any real Muslims Shazza!

So most of these skin crawling stats & facts come out of the arrogant west or is it mostly out of the “enlightened” east? LOL

I don’t think this is the first time she’s been beaten. As a woman, I refuse to be with a man who hits but and it’s because of how I was raised. No MAN HAS THE RIGHT TO HIT YOU!! I also think that parents make the mistake because they don’t teach their girls that a man can be provoked. So who do we blame in domestic violent situation….

  • sani

tony D. is this really what the verse says. i dont think so. it is easier to pick holes in the koran to to make it look bad. the verse traslated says you should leave them if you find them of infedelity. i encourge you to pick a copy of the koran and read what it says in respect to women and men. And just as shazza said, chris brown is not a muslim, neither is rihanna, and neither are most of the people who batter thier spouses in the united states. this issue is not religious. period

Bob, you realize that the North American continent is referred to internationally as ‘The West’? Also, don’t be dense. The Western world cites the Middle East and Asia as areas where women are treated poorly and in uncivil ways – but here, something like a Chris Brown beating takes place and, in our so civilized and progressive ways, we berate and blame the woman. That is called hypocrisy, which stems from ignorance and arrogance.

As usual, it was all about Tyra. Winfrey tried to reel her in but in the end, it turned into Tyra-fest 2009. While she did make interesting points, her ego and preening turned a serious topic into a diva battle. I did find the interview with Brown that Tyra did fascinating. He’s such an uneducated and poorly spoken individual, his pattern of abuse is not surprising. Sad stuff all the way around.

    Sani,
Selective wive beating, not habitual. Never said Chris was Muslim. It’d be a righteous path for him though.
