There are some times when a talk-show interview takes a turn into unexpected inspiration, sponteneity, and craziness that make you grateful there’s such a thing as late-night TV. So it was on Monday night, when Craig Ferguson brought out Jason Segel. Segel was there to promote his new movie, but pretty soon, talk turned to passing gas and puppets. Hang around for the puppets:
Now, wasn’t that one of the more odd, unexpected, delightful moments you’ve seen on a talk show recently? Beats the hell out of one more star staggering onto a set to plug his/her latest project, don’t you think?

Jason’s a pretty fun guest – he was good on Letterman last week.
As long as they pair up Craig and Waldorf & Stadler… the three of them just bagging on people from the balcony!

And doesn’t Jason Segel come across as I guy you’d like to go have drinks with. But not Chinese food.
Craig Ferguson is my favorite late night host… And I love Jason Segel too. I’m glad I was up late that night to watch, it was hilarious!
That was sheer brilliance! I was actually kind of sad when the clip ended.
that was so funny and awesome !
Craig is always so relaxed and spontaneous. That’s why he’s the best in late night tv in my opinion.
The Segal interview was the peak of a very silly mood Craig was in for this episode. While the next guest (Dave Atell) wasn’t in as silly a mood, and therefore not as funny, this entire episode should go into the vault as an example of the range Craig Ferguson brings to the Late Late Show: everything from a quote by St. Augustine during the monologue, to Craig’s uncontrollable laughter during the email segment (which almost rivals the wild laughter Steve Allen would burst into during his Tonight Show days), to the Segel interview.
I absolutely love Craig Ferguson! He is the best of the best. I saw his stand up show live last summer and he was fabulous. He is simply charming.
I could care less about Craig Ferguson, but am obsessed with Jason Segel. He’s so funny! Can’t wait for his movie to come out
And I could care less about Jason Segel. Except when he admits that Craig, the comic genius, is his hero.
I got hooked on Craig at the start, with those fabulous puppets!!!!
