Jimmy Fallon’s second night featured an opening monologue so half-hearted (cold-weather/economy topical joke: "It’s brutal out there; the Dow is 30 below zero"), it looked Read the full post.

gerritv, I’m glad you thought Arsenio Hall was great on day one. But the fact is, Conan took YEARS to hit his stride. Talk shows are an awkward beast and most people aren’t going to settle into a groove that connects with people right away. Your comment is just ignorant of…reality.
LMAO.. JIMMY INTRODUCED TINA FEY AS THE MOST POPULAR WOMAN IN THE AMERICA. WAS THAT JOKE? LAST TIME I CHECKED HER SHOW “30 ROCK” RANKED 119th IN RATINGS, TIED WITH “AMERICAS MOST WANTED”. NOBODY WATCHES HER SHOW AND IT IS BECOMING VERY OBVIOUS THAT TINA FEY IS A POLITICAL TOOL OF NBC’s AND THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT TALENT AND MORE ABOUT PUSHING LINERAL IDEOLOGIES. TINA FEY IS NOTHING MORE THAN THE DIXIE CHICKS OF TV.
The funniest line of the night came from Tina Fey when she was looking at the clip of herself and Rob Pattinson at the Oscars – “Who is that, the devil?” Hilarious! Too bad Tina can’t be his sidekick every night, I’m gonna give Jimmy a chance, but he better figure something out.
One of the reasons that Craig Ferguson did so well at the beginning of his run is that CBS did an on-air audition giving each host a week of shows to see who “hit”. Drew Carey, D.L. Hughley, and a couple of others were up for the job, but Craig knocked it out of the park.

I’m not sure that Jimmy Fallon has the natural curiousity to draw out his guests. On SNL, it was always about him, not about the other actors. He may be looking for his guests to constantly find him funny, an act that gets old quickly.
Last night’s show has some painfully awkward moments, Tina Fey was a real class act. You could tell she was giving a lot of “pity” smiles for Fallon. I really want to root for the guy and will obviously give him more time, but for now….it’s kinda like a chore to watch.
Wow. Your use of capital letters really drove your point home. Nevermind the fact that your comment mentions nothing about the actual content of 30 Rock, or that Fey is at the helm of the most consistently funny show on network television, no matter what the ratings are.
I can’t believe people are already rushing to label him as a failure after 2 NIGHTS! Good grief. I watch late night talk shows for the guests, not the hosts. As long as Jimmy keeps booking great people like Tina Fey and Justin Timberlake I will keep watching. And that holds true for all the other late night hosts.
Hey xinunus: The “Caps Lock” key is right next to the “A” key. If you press it that will turn off the upper case letters. Maybe after you do that someone will read your comments.
JIMMY WAS PAINFUL TO WATCH. HE LOOKS VERY NERVOUS. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT HE ISNT QUALIFIED TO HOST A SHOW AND I AM EMBARASSED FOR NBC FOR THEIR INABILITY TO FIND GOOD TALENT. WHY DO THEY KEEP PUTTING THESE UNTALENTED PEOPLE ON TO HOST THESE SHOWS? THEY ARENT FUNNY AND 99% OF THEM ARE PAINFUL TO WATCH..
I think the theme with Fallon’s first two shows has been missed opportunities. He had a good idea last night about the Facebook status with the audience members, but the status updates were basically G rated. The lick something for 10 bucks skit would have been cool if they had them licking disgusting objects or even people, but no, they picked a Goldfish bowl and a copy machine. Its almost as if Fallon doesnt realize he is on a 1230am and not 10am. We are all worrying if Conan is going to tame down his act at 1130, but we should be worrying if Fallon has already decided to tame down the 1230 show.
HEY MISTERHATER!! BITE ME.. THE CAP LOCKS APPARENTLY WORKS BECAUSE YOU READ MY POST. GO TO HELL LOSER!!
Also, did they even consider Tina Fey at the 1230 slot? I mean, or are women not allowed to host late night talk shows? Its not like her show isnt going to get canceled within the next two years anyways.
TINA FEY = UNTALENTED
TINA FEY = DIXIE CHICKS OF TV
TINA FEY = A TOOL OF THE LIBERALS
TINA FEY = A TOOL OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY
“30 ROCK” = 119th IN RATINGS
“30 ROCK” = TIED WITH “AMERICAS MOST WANTED” IN RATINGS
“30 ROCK” = A SHOW ONLY LIBERALS ENJOY
