I though Alexis, Ricky & Anoop were the only ones that sang well. Danny is way too overhyped & I can't stand his dead wife bid.
I'll keep watching, because I love this show.

I have never- and WILL never -watch this show, nor will I ever listen to any of the dreck passing itself of as "music" that results from the participants. However, without this show being a hit, '24' wouldn't have survived, nor 'House'; neither of them picked up real ratings until they were scheduled after 'AI', a position that 'Fringe' now finds itself in. I've therefore concluded the show is a necessary evil, since it's existence gives a booster shot to any show that follows it- and to give FOX credit, they've only used it for shows that were critical darlings (if memory serves). Besides, there's supposed to be something for everyone on TV, right?

Just to reiterate my earlier comment, while I don't watch AI (and have absolutely no beef with those who do), the constant schedule shuffle to accommodate AI is incredibly frustrating for those Fox shows I do watch. For example:
We just had Fringe back for a few increasingly awesome eps, with an extra side of awesome sauce. Now, the next new episode isn't airing until April 7 (seven weeks, Fringe fans!).
I'm with whoever suggested AI should air once a week for an hour with limited commercials, so AI'ers can still get their regular fix but viewers of other shows get fair play as well. I don't think it's too much to ask Fox to pick a schedule and stick to it; they're only doing their viewers a serious disservice.

I think its very intteresting to watch the contestant progress into what could possibly a real entertainer. They get the most intense, fast-paced, training in being a performer that you will ever see. Take a person with a good to great voice and run them through the wringer for three months and out pops a few that actually have a chance at becoming stars. Face it, the show has given us some very good people: Clarkson, Yamin, Daughtry, Hudson, Underwood, etc. Yes there's been a few flops but there's only so much room at the top.

The show went on for too long. It's becoming more of America's Next Top Model, seriously! Why did they spent so much time talking in the Red Room (of course the parents will say "Oh, he's wonderful," and "She made me so proud," etc) Yo, this is not a Trya Bank Show, it's not a personality contest...

As someone who once discovered talent for a living (comedians, not singers) I used to like this show. Week after week the contestants would perform and you could see some of them start to stand out from the crowd. Jennifer Hudson for example. (Which says a lot about the judges and viewers right there.)
The new format SUCKS! Whoever decided to divide up the contestants so that they perform only ONCE in four weeks did no service to them. What chance to they have to learn from the judges comments and develop as singers? What chance do they have for the audience to get to know them? This is bad TV...it doesn't get the viewers hooked on their favorites because they don't have airtime to connect with them. Someone should be fired.

Ken...
Congrats...of course all of the Internet nerds who have nothing better to do with their time are commenting here (Me included). There really hasn't been any good TV since Cable came in to existence (didn't FOX develop at that time?) since we now have 100s of stations with 100s of programs to fill that vast wasteland. And a big ugh to those that say they only watch the intellectual stuff, and I'm sure they only listen to Classical music and eat at 5 star restaurants and shop at Brooks Brothers. AI is a guilty pleasure, it allows us (just like blogging on the Internet) to hide behind the anonimoty of a TV screen while we deride the show, the production, the judges, the songs, etc. etc. Ain't life grand! AI doesn't aim to preach, or to provide useless information, or to debate earth shattering issues. It, like thousands of other TV programs just wants to entertain. So what if its geared to the uneducated masses, aren't most things in life?
