Dave did a terrific interview with Captain Chesley Sullenberger last night–no surprise, given Letterman’s interest in aviation. But the real surprise of the night for me, and perhaps you, was the perfect, droll sense of humor displayed by Sullenberger’s co-pilot, Jeffrey Skiles. Check them out:

First Officer Skiles is *awesome* – it’s refreshing to see him and the Captain and other crew members take all the media hoopla and adulation in stride.
Kudos to all of them for going through it all with dignity and a fantastic sense of humor. It’s an amazing story.

Can we make these guys the new Smothers Brothers or Rowan and Martin? They are so brilliant and witty. Very comfortable in front of the TV cameras. Above all the paparazzi and freak show headlines, these guys are real heroes! Thank God for good folks like Sully and Skiles.

Kudos to the flight crew for everything, and can you imagine how bad this interview would have been on Leno? dave is the best.
Everyone on that flight crew are witty, classy, amazing people, but I hope that all of the hoopla calms down soon, and they can return to normal lives. The blonde flight attendant, in particular, looks like she needs plenty of time to chill out. God bless her and the rest of the crew, and best of luck to them!

They left the best line out of the clips: Dave asked the co-pilot what he was doing while the pilot was trying to land the plane. He said, “I was basically paralyzed with fear.” Laugh out loud moment.
(The octuplet and the Sully an Skiles xomments cracked me up) I called some people that aren’t Letterman fans because I knew they had interest in the story and that Letterman would kill on the interview. Thanks Dave.Now I have to educate people including seniors about the various characters and regular segments on the show.
