I have no strong feelings about Hasselback or The View, but I think it’s interesting that an EW.com column purporting to be about “prime time” seems to be about everything else on TV *except* prime time.
Look, Phelps is not too bright. He should have consulted with his lawyer, denied that he inhaled, and claimed the photo was doctored, like any politian would have done.
I’m much more offended seeing all the pictures of all-American role model Phelps with a different chick everynight, drooling at the Playboy mansion, partying constantly in Vegas and all-around acting like a d-bag. (No that doesn’t mean dime bag – I have no problem with his weed; my problem is the way he acts like an arrogrant player).
I don’t get how she even gets knocked up so many times. Hubby must duct tape that mouth first.
She needs to be knocked off that high horse of hers… Whoopi is right on that if he wasn’t a celebraty the photo would never have been published and he would not be at risk of having charges brought against him. Did he screw up yes, but I think we are forgetting that olympians are really kids. They are in their late teens early 20′s, they make mistakes, they are human. He is famous because he was an amazing swimmer who won an amazing record breaking number of medals. He was not paid to be in the olympics. If he hadn’t won he would not be getting millions in endorsements. The kid deserves a break. I wish someone would find something in her closet/past that she did when she was his age.
to Keewatin – Losers like you who hate people like Hasselbeck so much are quite transparent. You feel so much desdain for her because you are probably a leech on society, sitting around getting high all day. Let the woman have an opinion. That is what she was hired for. The show is called “The View” for just that reason. It is not only Behar’s and Goldberg’s view. You need to calm down.
Elisabeth, your hypocrisy is showing. I thought you said Christians shouldn’t judge, but then I guess you misunderstand those passages of the bible? You claim Michael Phelps acted like a poor role model for kids. What about you? Aren’t you being a poor role model by wearing major cleavage revealing sundresses on The View? Google images. Where is your modesty as a christian?
Is Ms. Hasselbeck intimating that Michael Phelps is inhibiting her ability to teach good values to her children? Sorry, but that’s HER job, not Michael Phelps’. Maybe she wouldn’t have the time to continue to hammer this pointless story down out throats if she spent more time with her kids.
I’m curious what her hubby took during football–my best guess would be Vicodin, far worse than weed.
If Phelps wasn`t a celebrity, no one would care. Whether the photo was doctored or not, we all make major mistakes I`m sure most of you have all smoked something in your past. Hasselbeck needs to get an honest grip on reality.(And this is coming from a Christian) if she is such a Christian, why is she judging someone`s mistakes and talking on show that`s not exactly squeaky clean? I mean I do watch the View sometimes but she should be knocked off her pedestal.
It phelps didn’t get paid millions of dollars then his image wouldn’t be on the newspapers. Everything comes with a price and he cashed the paychecks and has to live by the rules his sponsors set for himi including the morality clauses that usually come with sports contracts. cutegirlsdating.com

why would anyone pay attention to what this not-so-bright woman has to say? Phelps made an error in judgement by thinking he can be like any other kid his age. He can’t. He’ll learn. But of all the problems we have in this world…this is the least of them.
