It’s so easy to be fond of the children – they’re adorable. But the new house has definitely brought out the worst in Kate. How many times do we have to hear the shrieks, ‘where are you?” Did anyone else notice how she inferred the people who vacated their new house, were filthy because of the refrigerator, yet look at her just as angry about the filth in the home they’re leaving. I’m afraid the house and property are too big for them to keep tabs on the kids – that’s a bad thing – they’re too young. It’s inexcusable how Kate yells and rants at Jon – let’s remember how she’s supposedly aspiring to goodness, via her church. Hope someone gets Kate to calm down – her increasingly severe hair is distracting, but it serves to show the ‘change’ in Kate. Hoping for a kinder, gentler Jon and Kate Plus Eight … soon!
I do watch the show now and then and sometimes I just can’t imagine how Jon deals with Kate.
She is just a total and complete control freak and personally I would love it if Jon would just put her in her place big time. Nothing is ever her fault but everything is Jon’s fault. I don’t know how he stands it!
It’s a show about a family with a reality show and everything that reality show money buys.
Not really something most people can relate to anymore. The show has, in effect, cannibalized itself.
Time to pull the plug.
I did really like this show but I agree that it doesn’t have that same authentic feel anymore. This is not an ordinary family in an extraordinary situation anymore. They seem to be celebrities, jetting off for book signings, hair transplants, tummy tucks and spa days. I was really turned off when Kate admitted she only eats “salad” – she really seems to be busy trying to look the part of a celebrity. The new house just kind of says it all.
I think they have a huge family and money is tight! Sometimes $50 on shower heads is a lot of money and not using a coupon is a BIG deal. She was being herself, and it didn’t bug him so why should it bug us?
i really like this show. i watch it every monday and i have never really understood why people dislike kate so much. i think she is a mom under stress [who wouldn't be raising 8 kids] and the stress of being famous now can’t make it any easier so i never saw her actions or words in a negative light … until last night. the way she spoke to jon was unacceptable. i felt really bad for him. he was being talked to like one of the children and her demanding to see the receipts and reminding him of the rules when it comes to receipts and coupons made me cringe. i still don’t want to go too hard on her, but i really couldn’t believe what i was watching.
the kids are absolutely adorable. kate? not so much… its always difficult raising a family, and yes we all know the stress of two sets of multiples must be ridiculous. but there have been large families before hers, and there isnt always a reason to be so harsh to your husband. hes a good man, or at least he seems to be… she doesnt need to be so viscious. where is aunt jodi? i find it difficult not to believe what is being written about her
Am I the only one that still likes Jon and Kate? I love this show, I love Jon & Kate, and their kids too. They act like a real married couple. And I think the show has opened up a lot of doors for this couple and their young family. What they do has allowed the security of their children’s future, and that’s whats important.
i feel badly for the kids. they didn’t ask for their parents to exploit them as they have. It can’t be easy to have cameras in your face 24/7 while you are attempting to be a normal kid. In a few years though, the novelty will wear off, the kids will lose their cuteness and (oh no!) mom and dad will have to get actual jobs. To pay for the kids therapy.
I think that Kate has a tendency to be controlling (and running a household with 8 children certainly demands that type of personality) but that producers are consciously making her one dimensional. As to other comments (about her clothes and the children’s lack of chores), Jon buys (and puts together) her outfits (as seen on an episode) and she has the children put their things away (even making drawers with images on it to help them). As to being upset about him not using a coupon, it might have been over the top but there will be 8 children needing to go to college and get a head start in the future; better to be financially responsible now than regret it later. Just because the money is coming in now doesn’t mean it will forever.
I think the whole premise of the show (how do you raise 6 babies at the same time?) is done now that the children are older and more self sufficient. Now it seems like the show is simply a parade of cute moments mixed in with marital troubles. Throw in a cute, messy dog and it’s like watching Marley and Me over and over and over…. Not fun.
I love when “The Soup” shows clips like this one. Pretty soon, we may indeed see that spinoff, “Jon Minus Nine”.
When are people going to learn? Reality shows are supposed to be REAL, but they really aren’t, are they? They have 3 cameras X 3 days X 8 hours = 72 hours of content. They ship all the “content” to some guy sitting in an office somewhere and he edits it down to 22 or 44 minutes. What we see is “HIS OPINION” of what HE thinks will entertain the public. I remember another “Reality” show about 2 men building motorcycles. They were outraged when they saw their first program, it concentrated on their father/son relationship. Look how famous they are now. Its all about the EDITING, all Reality shows are, and always will be. To see REAL you would have to watch them 24/7. Want to see the proof? Watch the FREE live feeds (2 weeks)for Big Brother, and then watch their editors “OPINION” of what gets shown on TV, huge difference. “Survivors” do commercials after the show. Popular people will always get “Freebies”, thats just the way it is and all shows are about the “EDITING”
When will people wake up and realize that Jon and Kate have purposely exploited their children and the public for financial gain ?
I have watched the how since inception. There is no love in that family. It is all about $$$$$.
This couple disgusts me. He’s no better than she is. Their kids are going to end up being just as obnoxious as evidenced by how much of a brat Maddy has turned into.
That she is never seen to just sit and relax and play with her kids bothers me. It’s as if she’s an observer in her own children’s lives and not a participant. She’s annoyed me from the time she wouldn’t climb up the steps with Jon and the twins in what I think was the first season.
The best thing for their future would be to get away from the cameras.
