'Fringe': 'It's all rather tense, isn't it?'

Tagged:

So did you watch Fringe last night? When Joshua Jackson first mentioned the “giant, slimy, spiky slug,” I thought he was referring to Simon Cowell. Just kidding: This was at once the freakiest and most satisfyingly complex edition of Fringe to date. Let me count the ways I’m loving the show: (1) the new twists in the series’ overarching FBI conspiracy plot; (2) the elbows Anna Torv used in smashing Mitchell Loeb’s wife (good offense-fighting, and hello, Trini Alvarado, I remember you from the 1980 movie Times Square!); and (3) the detail that the giant slimy spiky slug was one cell from “the common cold.” Oh, and the fact that Walter is still dousing lab specimens with LSD.

Consider my mind blown. How about you–did you watch? Did you like?

What an awesome episode. My second favorite episode of the series. Great stuff J.J.

Great episode. So glad the show’s back.
Did anyone else notice the two targets’ last names were “Simon” and “Kinberg,” and Simon Kinberg is the writer Jumper, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and X-Men 3, to name a few? I wonder what the significance of that easter egg is? Or is it just a coincidence?

Ugh, that cold cell was disgusting! I am intrigued by what’s up with the sister and what Loeb meant when he confessed. I also liked the Peter/Liv stuff that was brought up. Lastly, don’t like the IA guy, we don’t need yet ANOTHER plotline/obstacle on the show, there’s quite enough going on already!

great episode. i’ve missed the show, it seems like ages since we last had a new episode.
i get the feeling eventually Olivia is going to discover she’s actually for the wrong side à la Alias. though in a much more complex way… like the whole creation of this Fringe division & it’s sort-of alliance w/ Massive Dynamic thru that one creepy lady with the bob haircut is for some bigger devious purpose.
I dunno. that’s the only theory i have at the moment.. ha.

The episode before the break and this one have completely changed my opinion of this show. I don’t know if the tone has changed or what but it has become so much more exciting and interesting.

Why did they have to do Cass Winthrop like that? I love when I see a beloved soap actor pop up in tv shows like that.
Last night was definitely a “let’s steer this in a new direction” episode. I’m in for the long haul.

The episode was good, I like it.
The series is tense, really good.
I like that every day something came up and one true is revealed and takes to another one.
Beside that is limited commercials, I rather watch it this way.
keep up doing it that way!

    One more comment:
The FBI is not interest in this complot.
The agency is blind thinking that the company had good intentions, but don’t know that they plan to take something big later and using the FBI to get it. The bad people is the company, not the organization who kidnap the agent.

What a bore…. I gave this show a try since I was over full of Obama’s big day & what a disappointment. The pace was slow, Walter is obnixious & not at all endearing ( like Duckie on NCIS)- only part I enjoyed was the fight between the agent & the woman/wife trying to kill her. Won’t waist my time on this show again…. give me the Mentalist anytime !!!!!!!

“Fringe” continues to be the best sci-fi show, ever. A terrific ensemble (wow, John Noble is so good) and smart writing make it so very watchable (and enjoyable).

I love Fringe! Great epsiode! Entertaining, gross, funny, fun! Those slugs were so disgusting, I love it. Walter makes me laugh out loud every episode with his quirks and comments. And I’m starting to get a major crush on Olivia! I love the conspiracy stuff too…I can’t wait to see it unfold! Love Fringe!

I thought last night’s ep was great. I hope it was enough to pull more fans in. Love Josh Jackson & John Noble they have great chemistry and comedic timing. Olivia is growing on me although it has taken awhile. When she was making pasta for her sister I think it was the first time we’d seen her doing something outside of the job. Next thing you know she’ll be moping in bath tubs while drinking red wine just like Sydney Bristow used to do.
